Fue un libro afortunado porque recibió el Premio Letras de Oro, patrocinado por el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de España y la Universidad de Miami en Estados Unidos. En este portal se encuentran poemas de la poetisa Julie Sopetrán, sobre Día de Muertos en México. Ella escribe al respecto: “Mi primer encuentro con la muerte fue en Ihuatzio. Para una española, entrar a un cementerio en plena noche, requiere preparación. En España no celebramos la muerte. Nos da miedo nombrarla. Vamos a plena luz del día y les ponemos flores a los seres querdos el día primero de Noviembre. Fue difícil pero no imposible”.
